OBSERVATION:
The The Advertising Standards Association (ASA) rules do not allow Jaguar to fully showcase the true potential of its fastest sports car ever - Jaguar F-TYPE SVR.
"Aggressive driving even at
low speeds is not allowed
to be shown e.g. sliding a
vehicle is not allowed, even
if done briefly and at low
speeds."
The UK Code of Broadcast Advertising
IDEA: PLAY THE RULES
Cast Ryan Gosling to be part of an advert for Jaguar F-TYPE SVR, only to have it
rejected by the Advertising Standards Authority.
NEXT UP, JUST A TWEET WILL DO
Our celebrity headliner will break the news of the rejection with a simple Tweet.
AND THEN A LITTLE DEMO TO END THINGS.
We'll approach Jimmy Kimmel Live and have Ryan appear as a guest. Working with Jimmy, Ryan will answer questions about his recently banned commercial and play a behind-the-scenes / director’s cut of the advert. He’ll complement the film with some running commentary, stating the specific, overtly banal sounding, ASA/Advertising Broadcasting Rules violated during the filming.
OUTTAKE FOR JAGUAR:
Giving Jaguar F-TYPE SVR an attitude that’s simply too much for
advertising in general to manage.
